Terms & Conditions

The following are our terms & conditions. By ordering with us, be this via our website, facebook or instagram page, you are agreeing to and understand the following.

Portion Guide

Our portion guide is an approximation only. The final serving number will depend upon how the cake is cut. Tall cake slices can also be cut in half to give double the amount of slices.

Best Before Dates

As our cakes are made of natural ingredients they do not have the extended shelf life of most supermarket cakes, that contain additives and preservatives. All cakes are baked to ensure they are fresh for the date of your event and we cannot guarantee the quality if consumed more than 3 days after the event.

Fondant covered cakes should not be refrigerated as this will cause condensation to form on the surface and will affect the visual appearance of the cakes finish.

Once cut cakes should be kept covered or else they will dry out, buttercream cakes should be kept refrigerated in warm weather to prevent them from melting and sliding.

Allergies & Special Dietary Requirements

Most of our cakes contain gluten, dairy and eggs. Ingredients such as nuts can be removed from cakes but all of the above are still used within my kitchen, along with other allergens such as soya, so we cannot guarantee that our cakes are completely free of them. We can recommend another small business in Plymouth that are well known for their Gluten free baked goods - Sweet Generations.

Non Edible Items

Many cakes will contain a small amount of non-edible items (such as, but not limited to; support dowels in tiered cakes, ribbon, cocktail sticks, faux flowers, etc) you will be advised about the placement of such items but it is your responsibility to ensure these items are removed by yourselves/caterer/guests before consumption.

Delivery & Collections

Collection is available from my home in Plymouth. If you choose to collect your cake/treat we will not be held liable for any damage to the cake once it has left my premises

We do advise that when collecting a cake, when placing it in your car, it is kept on a flat surface I.e passenger footwear or boot. This will prevent the cake from sliding/moving during transit. It is advised that during hot/warm weather air con is kept on to keep the cake cool and prevent from melting. We do also advise you drive slowly and avoid bumps/heavy braking with the cake in the car.

Postal Orders

All postal orders are posted via Royal Mail 1st class delivery. These are normally delivered the next day or following day however we cannot be held responsible if these take a little longer due to the postal service. Should your order not be received within 7 days of posting this will need to be disputed and claimed via the postal service. Postal orders will be posted within 5-7 days of ordering unless ordering for a specific date.

Cancellations

If your order is cancelled 1 week before ordering a full refund will be given, however if ordering a wedding cake from us only a 50% refund will be given if cancelling up to 1 week before the date needed. If cancelling any later than that then no refund will be given.

Cake Care

We advise that buttercream cakes are kept in the fridge until an hour before they are needed and fondant cakes are kept in a cool place. During hot weather cakes should always be kept cool and out of direct sunlight to prevent melting.
